We are immediately
hiring a full-time Seamstress for our Northern Liberties
production facility.
Responsibilities for this position include the
following:
-Working alongside other staff members to sew a variety
of handbags according to order specifications
-Gathering appropriate supplies for the production
process and keeping track of sewing supplies inventories
-Conducting quality control for all steps of sewing work
-Working closely with all members of production staff to
ensure that bags are made correctly
-Performing basic maintenance to sewing machine
equipment
-Correcting mistakes in a timely manner and working with
staff to minimize mistakes from happening again
The successful candidate for this position will be
PROACTIVE, SERIOUS, DEDICATED, MOTIVATED, FOCUSED,
COMMITTED TO THEIR WORK, must NOT be a slacker and must
have the following skills:
-Industrial sewing machine experience
(this is a REQUIREMENT). If you’ve never worked on
one or have only spent a small amount of time working on
them in school, please DO NOT apply for this position.
Our experience has shown us that to be successful in
this position; you must have industrial machine
experience.
-TREMENDOUS attention to detail (words cannot
describe how important this is)
-Keen eye for quality with a strong willingness to
manage quality
-Proven ability to learn quickly
-Ability to manage multiple priorities
-Excellent time management skills
-Ability to correct issues and work with others to come
up with ways to minimize problems in production process
-Ability to work well under pressure
-Ability to do repetitive things without dying of
boredom (while sitting for extended periods of time)
-Ability to sew quantities without sacrificing quality
The Viv Pickle work environment is fun-- even tho' we

This is an ideal position for recent art-school
graduates or for folks who are interested in getting
into a start-up environment on the ground floor.
Textiles and fashion majors are encouraged to apply-—
but you MUST have industrial sewing machine
experience. The position starts at $10/hr and offers
a Mon-Fri work schedule of 35-40 hours/week. After a
30-60 day training period, you will be switched to
PER-PIECE salary (with potential to earn $13-15/hour or
more). Company supplemented health insurance is offered.
